Here is my assignment, for Travis...The top one was taken with a f stop of 2 and the bottom one is with af stop of 8, I think the top one looks the best, although it looks a little dark.

Nice work this is a very clear case of dof. It is really easy to see how far everything is out of focus on the f/2 shot, and how more of it is in focus on the f/8 shot. Can't wait to see you shutter priority assignment.
Love the DOF on #1. It looks like your exposure may be a little off due to the lights around the ornament and perhaps you got a little closer for that first shot so your exposure compensated for the brighter lights (unless you are exposing manually) - in that case you'll need to pick a nuteral area to meter off of to get proper exposure. These look great to me, very nice and crisp. Wonderful photos Janae.
yeah i definately think the first one looks better..great shots.
I love the first one. I like how the dof makes it so you can't see the Christmas light strands, but you can still see the sparkle of the lights behind the star.
